2026 Summer Basketball League
Welcome to the 2026 Summer Basketball League in Upshur County. The league will play indoors this summer in the WVWC main and aux gyms. Tentative dates are June 29 - July 24 This year.
We will have 2 leagues:
Here are the differences between each league:
Bobcat League will be our ultra-competitive, no college player limits league. This league will be held in the main gym of WV Wesleyan and will have two refs as we've always had. This league will be the more expensive league of the two and will have no limits to how many former or current college players you're allowed to have on each team.
Buccaneer League will be the same as our past leagues as far as limiting former college players on teams. We will only have one trained ref for these games and will feature more player assistance. We will be seeking out volunteers to be the second ref. This league will also feature a ladies night, where the females are welcome to come and play, we will work with Flame 304 and have them scrimmage the ladies that would like to play.

League Rules
The Summer Basketball League will follow WVSSAC rules. We will use 20 minute halves with a running clock. Dead balls will only stop the clock under 4 minutes in the 2nd half. Teams can agree to call the game at any point in the 2nd half as long as both teams agree. If a team gets 2 technical fouls, that game is a forfeit. If a player gets 3 technicals over the course of the season, they will be removed from the league.
Team rosters and all team fees are due by each teams first game.
